Although artificial intelligence has existed for some time, the recent development of generative artificial intelligence through websites like ChatGPT and Magic School AI have changed education today. As 21st century teachers, it is incredibly important for us to know more information about what technologies exist, what capabilities AI has, and how we can harness AI to enhance both teaching and student learning. This course will emphasize these very important elements for K-12 teachers and service providers. Students who take this course will obtain a great deal of knowledge and resources on using AI for aspects of their own teaching such as lesson planning and creating assessments, as well as how to integrate AI into their classrooms by allowing their students to utilize this technology in the classroom to improve learning. Attention will also be given to plagiarism detection software that educators may choose to use in their own classrooms.
