Spicing Up Elementary Science

Let’s get kids excited about science again! With the recent push for student success in ELA and Math, as well as the numerous NYS tests in those areas, elementary science tends to take a back seat. As educators we know that all areas of the curriculum are important in order to build a foundation for future success. We can recognize that students’ strengths lie in all areas of the curriculum and all learning modalities. Participants will find that the incorporation and integration of science into our daily activities allows students hands on opportunities to strengthen problem solving skills which will help not only prepare for the state tests, but also create more well-rounded, successful students.
